Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Dictate.IT is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Dictate.IT engaged a third party, Supercritical, to help measure its baseline carbon emissions footprint for the year 2022. The scope and boundary of the baseline carbon emissions have been informed by The Greenhouse Gas (“GHG”) Protocol. The reported Scope 3 emissions are the required subset of categories, in accordance with PPN 06/21.

Dictate.IT’s carbon footprint has been prepared in accordance with the GHG Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. The company’s carbon footprint presented includes Scope 1, Scope 2 and a defined subset of Scope 3 emission categories, in accordance with PPN 06/21.
The company measures its carbon footprint using Plan A’s carbon management platform, which applies a consistent and standardised methodology across all emission sources. Emissions are calculated by applying appropriate emission factors to underlying business activity data using recognised conversion factors for company reporting. Where primary data is unavailable, estimations based on national averages and industry datasets have been applied in line with best practice.
Where operations are conducted within shared facilities, emissions have been apportioned on an equity share basis, using the proportion of Dictate.IT employees relative to total occupancy. For the London office, Dictate.IT occupies approximately 25% of the workforce; therefore, 25% of the total measured emissions for that location have been attributed to Dictate.IT. This approach provides a reasonable and proportionate representation of the company’s operational emissions within a multi-occupancy site and is considered consistent with best practice where direct measurement at entity level is not feasible.
Emissions reduction targets
Dictate IT Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The company’s approach to carbon management is supported by its ISO 14001 certified environmental management system and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Policy, which provides a structured framework for identifying, managing and reducing environmental impacts.
To continue our progress towards Net Zero, we have adopted the following interim carbon reduction target:
We project that carbon emissions will decrease to 15.29 tCO₂e by 2030. This represents a reduction of approximately 29% against our 2022 baseline.
The target has been set to be realistic and achievable based on current information, while still representing a meaningful reduction in emissions over time. This reduction is expected to be driven primarily by measures to reduce emissions associated with business travel, alongside improvements in procurement practices and the optimisation of digital infrastructure. They will be refined over time as the accuracy and completeness of emissions data improves, particularly in respect of Scope 3 emissions. Progress against these targets will be reviewed annually and reported in updates to this Carbon Reduction Plan (“CRP”).
Carbon Reduction Projects
Dictate.IT has implemented and is continuing to implement carbon reduction initiatives focused on business travel, as it represents a significant proportion of the Scope 3 emissions. These initiatives are supported by improvements in the quality and granularity of carbon data, enabling more targeted and effective emissions reduction actions over time.
Reducing emissions from business travel
The focus of the carbon reduction projects will be on the implementation of travel policies to deliver a meaningful reduction in emissions over time. The company has enhanced the accuracy of business travel emissions data by capturing actual flight information where possible, including routes and fare class, which enables a more precise understanding of travel-related emissions and supports targeted interventions.
The company is implementing a travel policy designed to reduce emissions, including:
- requiring economy class travel for under five hours; and
- promoting more proportionate and necessary travel decisions.
These measures have reduced travel-related emissions year on year and are expected to continue to reduce the carbon intensity of business travel and contribute to a reduction in Scope 3 emissions.
Improving data to enable targeted emissions reduction
Dictate.IT is continuing to enhance the quality and granularity of carbon data across key categories, moving from estimated to activity-based data where feasible.
While these improvements do not directly reduce emissions, they provide a stronger evidence base for:
- identifying emissions hotspots;
- prioritising reduction initiatives; and
- monitoring the effectiveness of implemented measures.
This ensures that future carbon reduction projects are targeted, measurable, and aligned with actual sources of emissions.
Declaration and Sign Off
This CRP has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and will be reviewed and updated annually, within 6 months of the financial year end. The company uses a certified carbon management platform called PlanA to calculate its Carbon Footprint. Plan A’s methodology is aligned with the GHG Protocol standard covering scopes 1, 2, and 3 of carbon emissions. Company activity information is uploaded into the PlanA platform which then uses emission conversion factors to calculate the equivalent emissions created for these activities. Scope 1 and Scope 2 have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements.
This CRP has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors of Dictate.IT on 30 June 2026.
